I was working at a guest ranch in Red River the Summer of 1976. Chris Dietz and Daniel Dodson drove up from Austin so we could go backpacking from the Goose Creek Trail up the Rio En Medio Trail and over to Horseshoe Lake. We had 3 days. We pushed a little too hard on day two and ended up pitching a tent on Mt. Walter at 13,141 ft. to avoid torrential wind, rain, and hail. It was an adventure, indeed. I had a very small Minox 35mm camera in my pocket.
