Bay St. Louis 1

First day in Bay St. Louis, MS, April 26, 2014.

The eye of Katrina passed directly over Bay St. Louis. My brother-in-law has done a marvelous job remodeling his house after the storm.  is on the way to the shopping district. The lonely sailing school boats belong to the prestigious St. Stanislaus College. CSX freight trains make regular runs through town and are one of the noisiest residents. 4 blocks from Steve’s house is Mockingbird Cafe where they do a fine job for coffee and breakfast.

A trip down South Beach Boulevard and across the bay bridge took us to Pass Christian, the home of Shaggy’s Pass Harbor for a pretty good grilled fish sandwich and a brew.

It was prom night at the Sycamore House and there was a wait for a table. To kill the time we took a little walk. Barbecue Shrimp with Grits that would please the gods and a pot de creme for desert. I meant to take a photo of this wonderful desert. Oh, well. My girlish figure is in peril.
