Into the Woods

We went into the woods today
A company of friends
With Don and with Dyanna
Our souls we wished to mend

We bow in first to recognize
The spirit of our blessing
Then silently we spread apart
To see what we’ve been missing

Mindful walking is our task
To open up our eyes
We pause and breathe and listen
Our hearts release a sigh

From tiny flowers to Icarus
Antler marks on aspen bark
Small mushroom on a cow pie
We will make it home by dark

Now bowing out we say so long
Thanks for all the sensory blessings
Everyone now stands transformed
At least that’s what I’m guessing.
